Yes I love technology....

But not as much as you, you see! But I still love technology...always and forever...

Sorry, I had a Napoleon Dynamite moment there....

This assignment I'm working on had us watching some pretty rad videos from when I was three years old. (1987) The video (I found them all here) was about  a classroom in the future and a student was home with a broken leg. He was able to be on a video chat with the classroom and was assigned to work with a classmate from home. Later, his classmate video calls him and they show that he is able to research his assignment through voice commands on his computer and get his homework done.

The assignment for my edtech class wants us to highlight the similarities and differences between the technology shown in the video and the technology we have today. I think the filmmakers got a lot of it right. Today, we are able to video chat, or Skype and could probably easily do that if we can't make it to class. iPhones have Siri that lets you control through voice command and she even talks back (Although I've never used Siri), but I don't know of any computer where you can sit in bed and control it with your voice like in the video.

I think in the future, we will be able to easily video chat with our classmates, and young students might be able to take the same online classes together from anywhere in the world. Eventually all students might have interactive desks and the teacher can just download assignments to them there. All classes might be completely paperless one day, too.
