Hi!

My name is Nicole, and I already have a couple blogs, but this one is for my Education Technology class that I'm taking at Boise State. I'm 27 years old and I'm married to a great guy with an adorable 5 month old daughter.

I'm attending Boise State University after taking a 5 year hiatus from school. I graduated from Mountain Home High School in 2003. I've been through a few majors, Technology Communication Education (I wanted to teach classes like Video Production) was the major I first started with in 2004. Then I switched to Early Childhood Studies. Around that time, I was working in the hotel business and became an assistant manager. I decided I wanted to get my degree in Hotel Management so I went one more semester in 2006, and then waited a year to start online classes through the Art Institute Online in 2007. This didn't work very well because it got expensive very fast. I decided to take a break, and during that break I spent 5 years working as a night auditor. (I had quit my management job) I realized my new employer (after 5 years) was never going to promote me, and I was going to be stuck. So, I made the decision to return to school.

I'm very excited to be working towards getting my bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Studies, and then moving on to get my master's in Speech Pathology! If I need to, I will take a few years between my bachelor's and master's and work with young children. I will probably work in a preschool or daycare setting because I'm nervous about teaching young kids things I may not understand. I think as I get further in my classes, my anxiety to teach my go away. At least I hope so!
